Naren Aditya who worked in Bollywood for 10 years as an associate director is going to direct Hindi version of Chandramukhi. A native of Andhra, Naren has worked with Mukul Anand. Naren would follow the Malayalam original for this Hindi remake. Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan were approached to play the role of Rajnikant and Prabhu.
KS Rama Rao (Creative Commercials banner) grabbed the Hindi remake rights of Manichithrathazhu produced in 1993 by Fazil. This film was remade as Aptamitra by P Vasu in Kannada which went on to run for over a year. Apta Mitra won all the Filmfare awards in the Kannada language segment this year. Later on P Vasu directed the bilingual in Tamil and Telugu with Rajnikanth and Jyothika as 'Chandramukhi'. This film is a huge blockbuster in both Tamil and Telugu. KS Rama Rao has bought this subject from Appachan who holds the original rights.
The names of Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukherjee and Priyanka Chopra are under consideration to play the title role. This film would go to sets by March of next year.
