Abhishek and Aishwarya got married yesterday at a colourful but very private ceremony. According to reports Aishwarya was wearing a beautiful lehenga designed by Nita Lulla. Abhishek was seen happy riding on the horseback called Chandni which was hired from Tinnu Verma’s brother’s stable on his way to Prateeksha from Jalsa. He was dressed in a gold embroidered white sherwani, and wore a silver turban with his face covered with a frill of flowers and was accompanied by his nephew Agastya. Present at the auspicious occasion were Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, Bollywood actors Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Kajol and close friends of the Bachchans, Anil and Tina Ambani, Amar Singh and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar. The Bollywood hottest stars entered their wedlock in north Indian style ceremony. Around eleven priests were invited from Varanasi for conducting the rituals.
Every guest at Prateeksha was under strict surveillance. No one was allowed to carry their cell phones with them.
Among the various gifts by the guests, the most precious gift was the one that arrived from the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai. Yesterday was Vinayak Chaturthi and every year on this particular day Big B walks barefoot from his Juhu residence to the temple to offer his prayers. However as he could not go to the temple yesterday, he called the priests and asked them to offer a Pooja to the lord. A traditional thali of Pooja items, a piece of red cloth and a simple gift of flowers was sent to the Bachchans from the temple.
Amitabh Bachchan had earlier arrived at the temple to offer the first wedding card to lord Ganesha.
