The recently held AIDS awareness programme 'The time for Heroes' was aired at ABC News channel in U.S. on the night of 14th Dec 2005. Short interviews with Hollywood star Richard Gere, and our own Kamal Haasan were broadcast, as also audio clippings of Chiranjeevi's speech and dance clippings featuring Vasundhara Das song. The beaming of a program with south based stars in the U.S. only goes to show that many people of Telugu origin are settled in the U.S., their contribution to the U.S. and their increasing clout are being recognized.
