Spandana, a colourful musical star night organized by the Tollywood film fraternity to raise funds for contribution to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund towards the flood affected victims in the state, was held on November 7 at Gachibowli stadium, Hyderabad. The event commenced with the rendering of the Spandana’s special song.
South India's leading actors Rajinikanth, Suriya Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, NTR Jr., Ravi Teja, Ram, Nitin, Ileana, Hansika, Bhumika, Tarun, Saikumar, Prakashraj, Murali Mohan, Rama Naidu, Raghavendra Rao, Jamuna, Geetanjali, Khaveri Jha, Mohan Babu, Roja and others took part on the occasion.
Shriya, Allu Arjun, Mamta Mohandas, Siddarth, Genelia and others gave live dance performances, while music directors Koti, M.M. Keeravani, Chakri, Mani Sharma, Raj Kumar, Vandemataram Srinivas, Taman, Mickey J. Mayer, Devi Sri Prasad and S.P. Balasubramanyam enthralled the audience with their songs.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Rosaiah, who arrived to a rousing reception, appreciated the film industry for its noble gesture towards the flood affected victims. He recalled the services of late N.T. Rama Rao, the then chief minister, who collected funds for the victims of the drought during 1952, besides his contribution to the Diviseema calamity in the late 70s. Dasari Narayana Rao presented a cheque for Rs. 5,28,47,101 to the CM.
