Stunt artists from Andhra Pradesh are fighting for their right to work in their home state. They took to the streets recently and participated in a dharna at the Film Chamber office.
AP Cine Fight Masters' Association President Satish, was quoted as saying, “The Telugu Film industry is strongly established in Andhra Pradesh, yet the industry refuses to give work to Telugu stunt choreographers. The industry still follows the terms and conditions set by the Chennai stunt choreographers. According to the 1996 agreement, if Chennai stunt men are working for a Telugu film, 50 per cent of the work should be allotted to the native workmen. However, this agreement is not has not been honoured by the Chennaiites."
S. Pawan Kumar, General Secretary and G. Chinna, Treasurer, took part in the rally. Presently, the AP cine stuntsmen's association is on an indefinite strike until a solution is found.
