Popular producer Lagadapati Sridhar released the trailers of Sri Mahalakshmi, directed by fight master Vijayan and produced by Smt. Santi Srihari under the banner of Sri Chalana Chitra with Srihari in the lead.
The trailer was screened at Prasad Labs for film journalists. Speaking on the occasion, Srihari says, 'My character in this film will have two different shades. Vijayan's coaching helped me in maintaining good balance between the two shades. The story is based on the present education system. My character's name is Lakshmi Krishnadevaraya and I am a lawyer. I always argue on behalf of the unscruplous villains. But how I still support justice has to be seen on the screen. There is a very important role. It is that of a girl named Sri Mahalakshmi, a good student. She gets a seat in a medical college and the entire story begins at this juncture. We made the entire film in an interesting way. Each character in this film had its own identity. We are very happy that our trailers are being released through Lanco Sridhar.
We are planning to release the film on May 4th to mark my mentor Dasari Narayana Rao's birthday.' Lagadapati Sridhar says, 'I watched the original film in Malayalam and thought of remaking it in Telugu. At the same time, Srihari came into my mind that he would suit the story and the character best. Meanwhile, he himself bought the rights of the film and remade the film on his own. I am very happy that Srihari made my dream come true. Though Shaji Kailash worked for the original Malayalam film, action choreographer turned director Vijayan moulded it excellently on the celluloid. The film has several interesting elements besides scenes which make the people think about.' Producer Santi Srihari says, 'Manisharma's music would remain an asset for our film.'
