While it has been unofficially confirmed that Naga Chaitanya’s debut film will be launched on September 20th, his grandfather ANR’s birthday. Not much is known about the rest of the project, with no one from the Akkineni clan talking about the much-anticipated debut.
Recently though, the doting father broke his silence and spoke to a few members of the press. He was quoted as saying, “If a person takes to acting, he should do all kinds of characters to prove himself as an artiste. An artiste can definitely earn the audience’s appreciation with his ablilty to portray different roles. That is why I want to introduce my son as an artiste and not just as a hero. Take my career as an example. After Geetanjali, I played hero in Siva. Now, I cannot play certain kinds of characters though I would like to as my image has become an obstacle. I don’t want this situation to happen to my son Naga Chaitanya. He should become like a versatile artiste on the lines of my father, perform many different roles and do his grandfather’s memory proud.”
Sources say that Shraddha Kapoor (popular Bollywood villain and comedian, Shakti Kapoor’s daughter) will be playing the fresh-faced heroine opposite the debutant. Dil Raju is producing this untitled flick with another debutant, Vasu Varma, directing it. Music will be composed by Sandeep Chowta.
The royalty of Telugu and Tamil cinema fraternities will be attending the inaugural function of Nagarjuna’s eldest son's film.
