The much-awaited Vishal starrer Salute, with Nayantara as the soft yet steely TV journalist hit the screens today, August 14th. The Tamil version, Satyam, had already premiered on Tuesday night at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and was watched by more than 700 people.
The six-film old Vishal debuted in 2004 with Chellame and the movie quietly zoomed on to become a big hit of the year. Vishal has turned into a bankable action hero, with many in the industry predicting that he will become a ‘Minimum Guarantee’ star, which is the aim of every upcoming hero. Salute is Vishal’s biggest film so far in terms of canvas, technical expertise and budget, having been produced at a cost of Rs. 27 crores.
With everyone who’s caught the first-day first-show of Salute predicting that it will go beyond the mandatory 100 days, Vishal is poised on the brink of superstardom.
The film’s release worldwide is on the eve of Independence (Aug 14) with about 800 prints worldwide.
