Dr. Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha have joined the Congress Party, just as speculations about Chiranjeevi’s very own party are circulating. Jeevitha revealed that she has plans to stand in the upcoming elections when on a recent visit to the temple town of Tirupati.
The star couple has always maintained that they chose politics not for the power or position that joining a political party would bring, but they want to serve society through politics. They also made it very clear that their aim was to not tackle any of their filmi or political colleagues.
Recently, the couple met Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy in his office and presented a cheque for Rs. 5 lakh for the relief of victims of the recent floods. They also appealed to their enormous fan base to start relief operations in rain-hit areas and also to donate generously for this just cause.
Dr. Rajasekhar is currently acting in Satyameva Jayate, directed by Jeevitha, where their political ideals have been given a good platform.
