Though we Indians pride ourselves on our country’s rapid development in science and technology, we also see several incidents like people in remote areas being beaten to death as the ignorant villagers believe them to be practitioners of the black arts. This seeming disassociation between the rational and irrational is what Ram Gopal Varma utilizes so well, coming up with unnerving movies that do so well in the horror genre.
Raksha, Ram Gopal Varma’s latest horror movie, introduces Vamsi Akella as director. Jagapathy Babu, Kalyani and Baby Neha star in this spine-chilling flick that portrays the still-thriving belief in black magic, even among educated and enlightened Indians.
Raksha, produced by Z3 pictures and One More Though Entertainments, is presented by RGV. Right now, the film is in the post-production stage with the makers racing to complete all formalities for a mid-August release.
Bappi Tutul has given some spine chilling music; Surjodeep Ghosh is the cameraman. Able performances have been given by Jayasudha, Rajeev Kanakala, Pradeep Rawat, Radha Kumari and Atul.
