Why couldn’t he just wait for a while more to become the hero of some other Mani Rathnam film instead of doing a risky role as villain in Mani Rathnam's new multi-starrer film? Close friends and well-wishers of this young star have the same question! They wonder if it was such a smart decision to accept the villain's role.
Nevertheless, Prithviraj is so happy that he got this opportunity to star in Mani Rathnam’s as-yet untitled film with Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles. Vikram also has an important role in this mega-project.
Though Prithviraj entered Kollywood playing a villain in Kana Kandein (2005), he later switched to lead roles. As a hero, he is doing very well indeed. Super hits like Paarijatham, Mozhi and Vellithirai have given him the image of a soft hero. But the actor is now going back to playing negative roles for a second time, simply because Mani Rathnam asked him to.
Prithviraj is trying to be different in a villain's role for a big reason – one which every actor in India considers as a worthy one – Mani Rathnam. Remember Mammootty in Mani Rathnam’s Thalapathy in a supporting role! After the movie, Mammootty had a good break in Tamil. It seems that Prithviraj is also expecting something similar or even better!
Prithviraj is also doing a Telugu cop movie, titled Police, Police. This will be his first venture into Telugu film industry.
