Directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar and produced by Dil Raju under Sri Venkateswara Creations banner, Parugu with Allu Arjun and Sheela in the lead, is running successfully. The film earned some mixed reactions in the beginning. There was a strong feeling that the film might lose its shine after Kantri’s release.
However, its producer Dil Raju remarked, “Against all expectations that Kantri would oust Parugu, our film competed with Kantri from day one. Now, we can proudly announce that our film had reached the hit range, especially in 'A' centres. As part of promoting the film further, the film unit had celebrated the Triple Platinum Disc function on a grand scale amidst several popular film personalities."
Speaking on the occasion, Dil Raju said, “Our film has become a silent hit. After watching Parugu, Pawan Kalyan called me over phone, spoke for about 15 minutes and complimented me for bringing out a good film. He even mentioned that Chiranjeevi liked the movie.”
