Many of Vijay’s [Tamil] recent films and others’ films too have been remakes of Tollywood chartbusters. Now the tables have turned. Two of Vijay starrers have inspired two Telugu flicks – one has already hit the screens and one is in the offing.
Vijay’s Sivakasi which made was weel-received by the Tamil audience, was recently remade in Telugu. The movie, titled Vijayadasami, starred Nandamuri Kalyanram and Vedhika. And now there’s news that the tamil star’s next film Azhagiya Thamizh Magan is also to be made in Telugu; this time, the lead is to be Mahesh Babu. Sources say that Mahesh agreed to do the film in Telugu after hearing a one-line summary of the film! Shriya and Namitha, who are starring in the Tamil version, are likely to play the lead in the Telugu version too.
