Kayka, presented by D. Suresh Babu, directed and produced by Teja under Chitram Movies banner, stars two debutants. Teja has refused to divulge their names in a novel promotional move.
The unit of Kayka was in Chennai between September 12 and 16 to shoot a song in a very hip and happening club. Apart from the lead pair, at least 150 artistes from India and abroad were part of the shoot. Dance master Shankar was in charge of the choreography, while P.C. Sriram added his magic cinematography to make the song livelier.
Speaking to the media, director Teja said, “Generally, there will be a song that caters to the masses in almost every film I direct. This time, I chose to film this ‘mass’ song in a pub. The film’s story is very unique and I have given a different and novel treatment to the screenplay. I am sure that it will be a definite hit.”
Executive producer Kethireddy Jagadeeswara Reddy said, “The song, almost like a title song with the lyrics 'Keka Pettaa… Keka Pettu…' was penned by Chandra Bose and set to music by Chakri. With this we have almost completed the shooting. The film has gone in DTS mixing. We plan to to release the film as a Dasara gift.”
Editing is by Shankar, dance choreography are by dance master Shankar, Suchitra Chandrabose, lyrics are by Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry and Chandra Bose, while story, dialogues, screenplay, direction and production are by Teja.
