Kathanayakudu with 500 prints

It was reported earlier that the Rajinikanth starrer Kathanayakudu (Kuselan in Tamil) would be released worldwide with about 1200 prints. But the latest reports suggest otherwise. The film is now likely to hit screens with just around 500 prints. The reason? Rajnikanth wants the producers to release the film with a lesser number of prints so that the film will run for a longer duration. Rajinikanth feels that the only way a film will run to packed houses for 100 days is to release it with fewer prints.
Kuselan is produced by K. Balachander's Kavithalaya and Seven Arts films; the Telugu version titled Kathanayakudu is produced by Ashwini Dutt.
