The music of Kathanayakudu, Superstar Rajinikanth's latest flick, was released on the evening of June 30th at Hotel Le Meridian, Guindy. The first CD was released by K. Balachander and received by A.R. Rahman.
Kathanayakudu is the Telugu remake of the Malayalam hit Katha Parayumbol. The remake, directed by P. Vasu, has Superstar Rajinikanth with Nayantara, Jagapathy Babu and Meena playing the main roles.
Music is by G.V. Prakash. Produced under K. Balachander's Kavithalaya Productions, Kathanayakudu is also being simultaneously in Tamil with Pasupathy enacting Jagapathy’s role. The movie is titled Kuselan in Tamil.
The Malayalam film had Mammootty and Sreenivasan in the main roles. Though in the original film, Mammooty's role was restricted to just three scenes and one song, in the Tamil and Telugu remakes, Rajni's role has been extended to over an hour.
