The hype has paid off. Jalsa’s first day collections have created history. Hence the makers and distributors are haveing a 'jalsa' (celebration).
Jalsa has lived up to its name and the industry’s expectations, with the grand opening netting a total of more then seven crore rupees the world over.
With Power Star Pawan Kalyan and Ileana in the lead, Jalsa had a nationwide and worldwide release in major centres abroad. In 76 years of Telugu film history, this is the highest collection and the first for any regional film from any Southern state.
Jalsa, directed by Trivikram, was released in a record number of theatres (23) in Vijayawada and had an audience of over 1 lakh on the first day in the district.
This feat is understood more when we see that the average collection for big banner films during the fist week itself is only 8 crores, while Jalsa has raised over 7 crores on the first day alone.
Jalsa is all set for setting new records with the first day’s trend expected to continue.
