The Platinum Disc celebrations of Gundammagari Manavadu, directed by B. Jaya, presented by K. Achireddy and produced by Venkat under the banner of R.R. Movie Makers, with Ali, Sindhuri and Nikhole in the lead, was held at the preview theatre of Prasad Labs in Hyderabad recently.
Dignitaries including Dr. D. Ramanaidu, K. Raghavendra Rao, Arjuna Raju, M.S. Raju, E.V.V. Satyanarayana, S.V. Krishna Reddy, Puri Jagannath, Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Ambica Ramachandra Rao, Achireddy, B. Jaya, Ali, Chakri, Vandemataram Srinivas, V. Suresh Reddy, B.A. Raju, Raghu Kunche, Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, Kausalya, Satish, Akula Venkatesh, Veligonda Srinivas, Purna, Gundu Hanumantha Rao and Duvvasi Mohan attended the function presided over by Paruchuri Gopalakrishna. Mementos were distributed to the artistes and technicians of the film unit by Aditya Music.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. D. Ramanaidu says, 'I watched the film. It is quite good. I am very happy at the success of the film.' S.V. Krishna Reddy says, 'By making this film a hit, director B. Jaya not only got compliments from her producer Venkat. but also from the people in general.' Tammareddy Bharadwaja says, 'I am her fan. She worked as my assistant for five films. Now, she has proved herself as an able director.'
Ali says, 'I thank one and all who strived hard for giving me this status.' Replying to the compliments, director Jaya says, 'I am very happy that everyone is giving me compliments for bringing out a good film. At the same time, I am happier as the unit is celebrating the birthday of Raghavendra Rao on the same dais.' Later, noted director Raghavendra Rao cut the birthday cake and everyone present wished him a happy birthday.
