Mohan Babu is playing the role of a villain in Salim (Dummu Reputhadu). His son Vishnu is the hero and Y.V.S. Choudhary is the director. This is the first time that father and son are playing villain and hero in the same film. Originally, it was to be directed by Krishna Vamsi, but he backed out at the last minute. Mohan Babu is producing the film under his home banner, Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures.
