A special screening of the Tamil film Mirugam was held for the benefit of directors in Tollywood. Directors including Muthyala Subbaiah, Sagar, Samudra, N. Shankar, Shekar Suri, V.V. Vinayak, R. Narayana Murthy, Relangi Narsimha Rao and many others attended the special show.
Mirugam was directed by Saami and produced by K. Karthik under Karthik Movies banner. Aadhi Pinisetty, Ravi Raja Pinisetty’s son, is the hero, with Padmapriya as the heroine. The film is about how the raw and unfettered nature of an individual can ruin his life and the lives of others around him. There is also a socially relevant message about AIDS.
All the directors who watched the movie praised the director of the film, Saami sky-high. They said that the need of the hour is to make more such movies where the artists are down-to-earth and act in deglamorized roles.
Director Saami has given a good film where he trod a very fine line between vulgarity and aesthetic appeal, and he succeeded in a presenting a very human movie in all its raw sensuality.
