Finally the race for the rights of Bommarillu ends, and Vijay emerges victorious! He had stiff competition from Editor Mohan and Producer AM Rathnam, who wanted to remake the movie for their sons Jayam Ravi and Ravi Krishna respectively.
This Telugu blockbuster starring Siddharth and Genelia, has made heads turn. Vijay was totally impressed after viewing the premiere show along with Trisha, Vikram and Ravi Krishna in the Four Frames theatre. Vijay said, " Bommarillu has a gripping storyline which is narrated in an interesting manner." His decision to remake the movie was instant. Bhaskar who directed the Telugu version, will be doing the Tamil remake also. The big questions are: Who will play Prakashraj's role as the possessive father? Can anyone replace cute Genelia?
