Bhumika swept the Telugu industry off its feet and in a few short years, she established herself as an actress with a huge repertoire of expressions. Anusuya, where she portrays a journalist on the trail of justice, rocked the box office and paved the way for many more heroine-oriented roles for her.
She celebrates her birthday today (August 21st). Born and schooled in Delhi, she pursued her modelling ambitions by moving to Mumbai in 1997 and started to do ad films and Hindi music video albums. Debuting in Yuvakudu (2000) in Telugu with Sumanth, she caught the attention of Telugu audiences with Khushi (2001), starring Pawan Kalyan.
After her marriage in October 2007, she has gradually slowed the pace of her movie appearances and now wants to get into production along with her husband, renowned yoga guru Bharat Thakur.
Her latest, Mallepuvvu (Telugu), a heroine-oriented film, will soon be released. Maa (Tamil) opposite Srikanth, is in production right now. So Bhumika doesn’t look like she is going to retire any time soon!
Galatta.com wishes Bhumika Chawla many happy returns of the day.
