The game Ashta Chemma is played in villages across Andhra Pradesh and is the title of a movie starring Swathi (of Colours fame) and Nani. Directed by Indraganti Mohana Krishna with music by Kalyani Mallik, the movie releases on September 4th. The audio was released in a very different way with the tracks going straight on air on BIG FM with no glitzy audio launch event.
Swathi has got herself a very different image with her Tamil debut Subramaniyapuram, where she plays a traditional small-town girl. Stars like Vikram have admired her acting skills very much. Right from her debut in Krishna Vamsi's Danger, she has been known to be selective about the roles she accepts.
Rammohan is producing Ashta Chemma under Art Beat Capital Productions banner. Recently, at a press meet, he said, "Post-production work is in progress. The cassettes and CDs were available soon after the digital release on BIG FM. We will also be releasing a mobile game along with the audio CD and cassettes."
The director described the movie as a romantic entertainer.
