Ashta Chemma, starring Swati (who has made inroads into Tamil Cinema with her critically acclaimed performance in Subramaniapuram) and newcomer Nani, directed by Indraganti Mohana Krishna and produced by Rammohan under Art Beat Capital Productions banner has obtained the coveted ‘U’ certificate from the Censor Board.
Newcomer Nani is a World Space radio jockey; Srinivas Avasarala landed the role of second hero after a talent search launched by a major website. The makers wanted a funky looking newcomer who could be funny and cool at the same time without coming across as too smart alecky, so naturally Srinivas bagged the role. Bhargavi has been cast in another supporting role.
All four protagonists are native to A.P., which lends a very special flavour to the film; the makers of the film hope to highlight this as the USP of the film.
Kalyani Malik’s music was launched in the market last weekend by none other than Venkatesh, whose latest flick Chintakayala Ravi is now in post production.
Ashta Chemma, named after the traditional board game played in rural Andhra Pradesh, is gearing up for release by the end of the August or the beginning of September.
