Nidhi Prasad is a few films old, inspite of which he seems to get confused with the storyline. Michael Madana Kamaraju is the title of an old Kamal Haasan comedy classic. But this movie has only the title in common with the Kamal cult classic of 1991.

Prabhudeva, Srikanth and Sunil play the 3 characters, Michael, Madana and Kamaraju, supported by Charmee and Mayuri. The film is billed as a different, but unexpected love story.

The hero Madan (Srikanth) and Kamaraju (Sunil) are cousins, who attend a fashion show in Goa where models from across the country participate. Archana, a fashion designer, showcases her clothes on some Vizag models. Madan meets Charmee and hires her for his company.

Meanwhile, Kamaraju is bowled over by Mandira (Mayuri aka Asha Saini) and follows her to Hyderabad. Madan reveals his views on love, mainly that it is a waste of time, an infatuation created by the body for the mind, to Archana. Predictably, after a while, Madan loses his heart to Archana, but cannot tell her as his ego gets in the way. Kamaraju, to trick Madan into confessing his feelings, prints a fake wedding card of Archana’s wedding to a man called Michael – with Prabhudeva’s photo enclosed.

Madan gets really depressed; at this juncture, he meets Michael (Prabhudeva) accidentally. When Michael, who has lived by his wits all his life, realizes the situation, he sets about trying to win Archana’s heart, more so because her father, Nagababu, is worth 100 crores.
Michael makes all efforts to win Archana’s hand in marriage; how Kamaraju and Madan foil his plans, reuniting with their girlfriends, makes up the rest of the movie.

Srikanth has given a good performance as usual. Sunil is fantastic with good comic timing and is comfortable in the song sequences also. Charmee has shown that she is a good dancer as well as being able to emote very well.

The first song is visually pleasing and has been picturised on Sunil; Prabhudeva has proved that he is one the best choreographers South of the Vindhyas when he has choreographed a Telugu classical dance with westernized steps. The rest of the songs are average.

Kota Srinivasa Rao, Brahmanandam, Venumadhav and Ali have given effortless performances though the dragging tempo has played havoc with a good storyline. Many characters just walk on and off the screen leaving the audiences wondering what the character has to do with the overall story.

Chakri’s music hardly inspires and the background score is just average.
Cinematography is above par and Silver Screen Movies have delivered production values as required.

The movie is held together by the comedy – a good entertainer.
