Yet another routine film with tried and tested formula of action, fights and sentiment.
The story is about Sivakasi (Kalyanram), a poor mechanic working in the city with his friends. He falls in love with Devi (Vedika). Her father (Paruchuri) and two brothers are against this affair. Paruchuri wants to know the background of Sivakasi as he is not willing to give the hand of his daughter to an orphan.
Sivakasi then reveals his past. He is the son of Chennamaneni Rajeswara Rao (Suman), a rich landlord in Vemulawada. Sivakasi's father banishes him from home with the misconception that Sivakasi made a grave and unpardonable mistake. But the real culprit is Sivakasi's elder brother Durga Prasad (Saikumar). He puts the blame on Sivakasi to escape punishment.
Sivakasi now decides to return home. He finds that his father is dead. His brother is cruel, has driven their sister away and also treats their mother as a servant. The hero, as expected and in line with so many other heros, sets about bringing a change in the behaviour of his brother. With this, the film ends on a happy note.
Kalyanram makes a genuine attempt to look like a mass hero. But the director fails to give him that much-needed support. Still, Kalyanram manages to give a fairly good account of himself. Sai Kumar, well-known for his roles as villain, once again comes up with another winning performance. Suman and Jayasudha are good. The others are okay. Simran appears in a item song. But the song is just average and so is the comedy. Too many fights that we have seen before add to the length of the film.
The film is a remake of the Tamil film Sivakasi and Samudra has simply copied it. An average film, it might hold some interest for frontbenchers.
