NTR Jr-Rajamouli pair proved to be a hit again
Yamadonga is a comeback film for NTR Jr. The film is a socio-fantasy, director Rajamouli has moulded the film very well, and the hero NTR has sculpted his body by losing about 20 kg for the role.
The story is about a young man, Raju (NTR) who commits petty robberies with his friend Ali to make a living. Raja gets a chance to make big money from a deal but the person dies before he can pay Raja.
Raja is very angry and he starts cursing Yama, the god of death, which embarrasses Yama as many other celestial being watch in amusement and glee. To teach him a lesson, Yama gets NTR killed as he is in a bad phase of life called Yamagandam after which NTR goes to Yamalokam, the place ruled by Yama. There he unseats Yamadharma Raju and occupies his place. Yama finally gets back his throne but he is forced to send NTR to bhoolokam (earth).
Yama then follows NTR to Bhoolokam and the story takes an interesting turn from here on. Finally Yama is convinced about the sincerity of NTR and all ends well on a happy note.
NTR has come up with a commendable performance. H is at ease both as a young hero as well as Yamadharma Raju. Mohan Babu is good as the original Yamadharma Raju.
Priyamani and Mamatha add glamour as well as get a chance to play meaningful roles. Jayaprakash Reddy, Brahmanandam, Narayana, Raghu Babu, Ali and others do full justice to their roles.
The sets and graphics are the highlights of the film. The late NT Rama Rao appears in a song along with Jr. NTR.
The film is quite interesting for its story and also the treatment. Finally, this is a film that can be enjoyed by all classes and age-groups of audiences.
