Director Guna Sekhar is famous for his sets and this film also meets the standards set by him. One of the highlights of this movie is a set of Meenaskshi Amman temple which is an exact replica of the real one. Aswini Dutt, the producer of the film, is quite particular about quality. A large amount of money has been spent for recreating a village and for shooting a flood which swamps the village. Other sets made particularly made for this movie include the Warangal Fort and traditional buildings. These attest to the pains taken by the director and producer for authenticity.
The film Sainikudu has become quite famous. The film focuses on a love story The lead roles are played by Trisha and Mahesh Babu. Siddhartha (Mahesh Babu) is a medical college student who wants to serve society. Once he happens to meet Pappu Yadav (Irfan Khan), who is a thief who robs people. Deciding to teach Pappu a lesson, Siddhartha kidnaps Varalakshmi (Trisha), Pappu’s bride at the time of marriage.
After the kidnap, Siddhartha continues to blackmail Pappu. Siddhartha brings to light the dark character of Pappu and how Pappu played a trick for ensnaring Siddhartha and his friends in a blast case. Siddhartha does all these with the help of Mondi, who is the brother-in-law of Siddhartha and Varalakshmi. The film ends with the killing of Pappu by Mondi.
The film unfolds the story very well. Trisha appears quite charming.. Mahesh Babu has rendered justice to the character of Siddhartha. He appears majestic in this role. The villain Irfan has also performed well.
On the whole, the film is good and enjoyable. The combination of Mahesh Babu and Trisha has worked very well. The song sequences in this film are bewitchingly colorful and have been photographed in a stylish way. This movie is surely a feast for the eyes..
